About the role:
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our client’s software engineering team in delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineers, driving technical delivery, improving engineering processes, and ensuring the successful execution of the product roadmap.
The Engineering Manager will work closely with Product Managers, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders to deliver projects while fostering a high-performing engineering culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and career development for team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of engineering talent.
Delivery Management:
- Plan, prioritize, and oversee engineering deliverables.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Remove delivery blockers and manage engineering risks.
- Monitor sprint progress and team productivity.
Technical Leadership
- Review software designs and architecture.
- Promote coding standards and engineering best practices.
- Guide engineers on technical decisions and problem-solving.
- Ensure applications are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
Collaboration:
- Partner with Product Managers to define technical solutions.
- Work closely with DevOps, QA, and Infrastructure teams.
- Provide regular updates on engineering progress and delivery risks.
Engineering Excellence
- Drive Agile and DevOps best practices.
- Improve development workflows and automation.
- Monitor engineering metrics and implement continuous improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of software engineering experience.
- At least 2 years leading engineering teams.
- Experience building fintech, banking, payments, or financial services applications.
- Strong experience managing Agile development teams.
- Strong background in .NET, Java, Node.js, Go, C# or Python.
- Experience designing REST APIs and microservices.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- CI/CD pipeline knowledge.
- Docker and Kubernetes.
- SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Git and Azure DevOps/GitHub.
Hybrid work mode – 2- 3 times a week

Pay: ₦1,500,000.00 – ₦1,700,000.00 per month
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Lagos
